What Our Students Say
Some Questions Before Starting Off Your Mandarin Journey
🙋♂️ What is the format of this course?
👉 Each lesson in this course includes three parts:
- A 20-90 minutes long video lesson along with the PDF file.
- An audio file of the new words and text for quick review.
- Homework to make sure you know HOW to learn Mandarin, not just WHAT to learn.
🙋 How much time do I need to finish this course?
👉 Each video lesson will take about 30 to 90 minutes. I highly recommend you take another one hour to review the lesson and do the homework. (After lesson 10, the homework will be a bit more challenging than the lesson itself. As a result, you may need to put some serious thought into the homework).
It takes about one month to finish the first 10 lessons. And from Lesson 11 onwards, the length of each lesson will be much longer, and since we have collected enough vocabulary and sentences, there will be a lot of speaking exercises happening in the last 10 lessons. So you will spend about four months on the second half of the course.
🙋 I’m a complete beginner, can I study this course?
👉 YES! This is the course designed for complete beginners, and it’s the course that can ensure you get past the beginning level once and for all.
🙋♂️Do I need to know Pinyin (the Chinese phonetic writing) before I start the course?
👉You don’t need ANY previous knowledge of Chinese to start this course. We won’t spend too much time on studying Pinyin because as an adult learner who understands English, you really don’t need to spend hours on Chinese phonetic writing. I promise you that you won’t have any problem reading the Pinyin text.
🙋♂️I’m an intermediate level student, can I still use this course?
👉 I have seen a lot of students who have passed HSK3 or higher level but are still not comfortable in speaking Chinese. If you have learned Chinese for a while but still feel scared to speak up, this is a perfect course for you to use the words and sentence structure that you are already familiar with to practice speaking and thinking in Chinese.
